Czech Scenography Salon 2024: SHARE / Possibilities of Dialogue — Brno

We cordially invite you to the opening and exhibition period at the Reduta Theatre in Brno, where from December 3 (from 6 PM) 2024 to January 20, 2025, many colorful visions, inquisitive dreams, dynamic and tamed objects, conversations of materials, transformations, movements, experiments, running images, video or spatial actions will come to life and engage with you, as a visitor, in a discussion about all that is possible and yet unknown.

The exhibition is simultaneously an installation, presentation, and performance, created by students of the scenography studio of the Theatre Faculty of JAMU along with their teachers, related studios, and invited art schools — UMPRUM in Prague and VŠMU in Bratislava.

The journey through this media-diverse collection of works is characterized as a showcase of variations, an offer of possibilities, and a dialogue: a meeting. It offers one form of response to the never-closed question: Is it possible to abandon one or more elements in theatrical synthesis, and how can the scenic and non-scenic image, environment, or material live in autonomy or freedom? How can scenography be exhibited in the interior and corridors of a theatre house and what opportunities for interaction does it offer to visitors? What can a creative meeting be about in today's fragmented, multi-real world?

We look forward to sharing our prepared time-space with you and engaging in verbal or conversely silent emotional discussions about all that we may not know much about in advance.

Tuesday, December 3 — Reduta Theatre, Zelný trh 313, Brno
6:00 PM — Opening 6:30 PM — Performative accompanying program in the exhibition space (happening, theatre, dream)
9:00 PM — End of the program
